but it did!!! Carson finally went potty on the toilet! He went poop on the toilet for Granny yesterday and for Nonna today! I can't believe it. Two times in 24 hours! We're so proud of him. I got a call yesterday from Granny while we had our adult day on the boat informing us of the news. Gianna and Granny cheered him on and he was very excited. He shared the excitement with Nonna today and cheered "I did it, I did it!" We still have a ways to go but it's a start. Emily will be home full time in two weeks so that should help with the consistency.

Emily vented the other day about our party nights but I want to fill you in on one of mine. One night a couple weeks ago, Carson got up at 1:45 a.m. for the day. Emily went up in his bed and I stayed up with him in ours. I had to be to work at 6:00 a.m. and of course he fell asleep right after I went to work. Rather than go crazy, I decided to just enjoy the time with him since I was up anyway. I didn't have much of a choice. He was bouncing around the bed like a kangaroo. Then he fell off. He didn't get hurt but started his fake cry and put his butt up by me and said "Carson needs 10 bandages for my butt make you feel better." He mixes up all his pronouns and it is hilarious. Then he started pressing on my nipples, which I hate. He called them red buttons...he would poke in my belly button and say "is this a red button, no," then poke my stomach and say "is this a red button, no," and then poke the nipple and say "is this the red button, yes!" Then he informed me that my red buttons had bubbles on them. Then, he told me that my belly was beautiful and nice and clean and that he loves my belly whether it's clean or dirty....he's so funny...I'm sure this was a line from one of his shows.
From there, it was about 4:30 so I got in the shower. He was watching Toy Story 2, a.k.a. the red movie, in our bed. I was in for about one minute and he came in and said "Carson take a shower with daddy." I said no so he decided to go in the cupboards and start touching stuff that he is not supposed to. First it was Soft Scrub and then baby powder, which he calls sugar. I hear "Dayeee, you can open the sugar." I said no. He then figured out how to open it and kept pounding it on the counter so little puffs of powder would come out. First, he said "look dayeee, it's Christmas, it's no---ing," then it turned into "Be careful Carson the bolcano is gonna explode!" Then, he would bang it some more. He's nuts!

This morning he was up at 4:00 of course. When I got out of the shower and went to find clothes, he informed me that I have a beautiful hose. Thanks Carson! Mommy never tells me that my hose is beautiful.

I think that this potty thing might catch on. As I was just typing, I went into the kitchen where he was playing with his guys. All of his clothes and diaper were off. He had pooped but wanted to go to the potty....too late but good thought so I put him on and let him sit there. He yelled "it's working, it's working!" Then he told me that he needed a hose to wash his butt. I wasn't gonna use my beautiful hose so I just got some wipes. He also told me that his poo-poo smells delicious. A little mixed up on adjectives too I think???

Just a quick note on Griffin, our other child...haha! He is pure joy! However, he is getting his mother's temper...when he doesn't get his way, he has this piercing scream and then starts crying hysterically but can stop immediately as soon as he gets what he wants....definitely like his mommy there....remember she does have a background in drama...haha! He's getting so many words....my favorite is fffuff ffwy everytime we're in the car. He is a french fry monster. He loves them!

Hi Jay & Em,
Just finally getting a chance to catch up on all your blogs from the past month. Congrat's on the potty breakthrough! That is wonderful. It sounds like Carson is doing so well, as well as Griffin! I really feel for you both on the sleep deprivation (and especially for you Emily... as I know how crabby Jay can get without sleep! ha ha). You both are pillars of strength and encouragement. I can't imagine what you both have and are going through... but if I have the opportunity to have kids one day, I hope I can follow your example! Take care, I hope you are doing well, and hope to see you soon!
Love,
Amy
