Florida/Disney Trip - Part 1

Hi Everyone! As many of you know by now, we have been back from Florida for a week now. We had a great time and made many wonderful memories with the boys but don't plan to do it again anytime soon. Emily and I were completely exhausted by the time we got home. It wasn't a vacation by any means...haha!

As any of you know with children, you have to pack most of your house to go anywhere. Three huge pieces of luggage, three carry-ons, two car seats and a stroller and we were on our way. Once we got our luggage from the car to the check in point, we were okay. The flight there went perfectly. The boys were angels. Carson and Griffin even shared a seat and watched the DVD player together with almost no fighting. It was precious.

We spent the first four days and my dad and stepmom's house. We just hung out and swam and went to Venice Beach one of the first days. The weather was great Friday and Saturday (upper 70s.) By Sunday it was only in the upper 50s and cloudy and Monday was not much better. The 50s feel so much colder in Florida...it's weird. It's only in the 50s right now and I have the window open right here next to the computer and I'm hot.

Uncle Jon, Danielle and Bella came over to play.

We went for an early morning fishing trip.

We hung out at Venice Beach.

We enjoyed popsicles.

Carson set the dinner table.

We played outside....

We swam in the pool....

Grandpa and Grandma K.

Monday night we left for Orlando. We rented my cousin Beth's house. It was only 15 minutes from the park. It had four bedrooms and it was beautiful....much better than a hotel and a great deal (Thanks Beth!)
Tuesday, we decided to get hopper passes, which was a great idea. Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom are all great but not really a whole day's worth of stuff for kids ages 2 and 5. We did Hollywood Studios for the first half of Tuesday.
Carson got his face painted like Buzz Lightyear, which was a great accomplishment considering his sensory issues.
We had lunch with the Little Einsteins...
Then we ventured over to the Magic Kingdom for the evening.
Carson loved the race track ride at Magic Kingdom.
Wednesday morning, we got up and headed to Animal Kingdom. It was very busy...I think that everyone had the same idea as us to try to see the animals early while they are active. We had breakfast with Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy.

Then we went on the safari...it was AWESOME. We were this close to the animals....

More to come......
