Two good things

Jay and I know that we are incredibly blessed. We know that we have an awesome support system and most of all.... two wonderful, amazing children who we love more than anything. It is easy to get bogged down by the tough stuff but please don't think for one second we don't know how blessed and loved and truly lucky we are.

We know all of this. It is just that our hearts always want more. Money comes and goes, so does the daily stress of life. We get that. The only things that are important to us are Carson and Fin and our family and friends. That is really what life is all about.

But today we had two things happen that were really nice. We feel extra blessed. I will go to sleep tonight with some peace.

1. Thank you Aunt Cindy and Uncle Joe for the very thoughtful card you sent. We loved it and it means a great deal to us. When the weeks are tough, it is exactly the build up we need to keep our focus and stay on path. Your kind words are very much appreciated. Most importantly, just knowing you read our blog and care, means the most. We love you.

2. I can't believe I am going to write this - our insurance reimbursed us for 50% of Carson's intensive therapy. I repeat - 50% of the 5,000 we paid for the three weeks last month have been sent back to us. Thank you God!

When Jay opened the mail he asked me if I was ready to "die". I thought it would be some bad news or more fighting it out with insurance, social workers, etc. When he brought in the checks he actually dropped them. We hugged, laughed and are in disbelief. I was joking and said it was our "Christmas Miracle".

Now, don't go expecting a lavish Christmas. What this means is, when Carson is ready, we can do this therapy again and know we will be reimbursed. It also means it is more likely that the other things we have paid out of pocket for at this center, will be partially reimbursed as well.

So, tonight I sleep well. I got to spend the day with my boys, visit with family, got a really nice card in the mail and some money we did not expect.

Oh, and let me not forget that Carson got a YELLOW today at school. A yellow is as good as a green as far as I am concerned.

I don't think I have ever been sadder than I have been this week. After this tough week, it was the fill up we needed. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. Thank you for keeping up on our journey. We love you all!

Emily

I don't need a Christmas gift - just reading your blog and feeling your happiness if the best gift of all. Keep the good news coming.... I hear "yellow" is the new "green".
